Inle Lake overview

Geographically located right in the centre of Myanmar is Inle Lake, which is home to many local tribes who make use of the lake for their day to day lives. The lake stretches a total of 22kms in length, and situated not far from the city of Mandalay. Day tours operate on the lake and give travellers the opportunity to witness the local life in rural Myanmar. One of the best ways to see Inle Lake is by renting a bike, which can be done cheaply. Like in most places in Myanmar, accommodation is cheap here and there are plenty of local food options, and one restaurant which makes a surprisingly delicious wood oven pizza.
