Pyin Oo Lwin overview

Travellers who seek the comforts of a big city in a small town would certainly be impressed with the difficult to pronounce town of Pyin Oo Lwin. Getting to Pyin Oo Lwin from Mandalay by train takes approximately two hours through some steep and rugged terrain, but is well worth the trip. Inside the town of Pyin Oo Lwin itself, there is the usual array of Pagodas and parks, but the real reason why travellers stay here is to witness the amazing natural wonders located outside of the city, such as a number of stunning waterfalls. Accommodation is easy to find in town, with a number of three and four star hotels offering rooms at decent prices, and a large variety of food (Burmese of course!) available at a reasonable price.
